Huge Percentage Of EV Owners Want To Go Back To Normal Cars, Study Finds

Tell that to the commee Green Obiden KKKlan. No new GAS cars sold in CA in five years?
That's a part of the plan. The EV's won't be replacing the gas and diesel vehicles, and that forces people to find alternatives.
So we can add that to the list.

You're on the way to understanding the purpose of stopping the sale of gas cars. It's never been intended as a 1 for 1 replacement of gas with EV's.
Does that make it more feasible for you to imagine?

It's only a matter of time before battery technology allows faster charging and prices on EV's come down.

When that happens, no one will want an internal combustion engine in their car.

Agreed, but we are nowhere close to that, which is why these initiatives by the federal government and some state governments are ridiculous.

Funny that. So a 16 yr old CA new driver in an APT building will be forced to pay 2X for an EV they can’t charge up? Get off the boards with that BS.

:oops8:

Nearly half of American electric vehicle (EV) owners want to buy an internal combustion engine model the next time they buy a car, according to a new study from McKinsey and Company, a leading consulting firm.

Approximately 46% of Americans who own an EV want to go back to a standard vehicle for their next purchase, citing issues like inadequate charging infrastructure and affordability, according to McKinsey’s study, which was obtained and reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The study’s findings further suggest that the Biden administration’s EV push is struggling to land with American consumers, after 46% of respondents indicated that they are unlikely or very unlikely to purchase an EV in a June poll conducted by The Associated Press and the University of Chicago’s Energy Policy Institute.

Huh, if only someone had predicted this!

Toyota was right......120V plug-in hybrids with a 50 mile battery range are the future.

I was amazed by the fact that so many EV owners don't have a home charging system.
Amazon offers home charging stations anywhere from $260 to $600 or so and they mostly require installation by an electrician who don't work cheap and you probably need an additional electrical circuit to accommodate it. You can't just plug your EV into an existing wall socket.

". . .Most American homeowners will spend around $1,150 to $2,750 to purchase and install a 240-volt charging station. A good home charger costs $350 to $750 or so, while the typical installation runs between $800 and $2,000 according to Qmerit, a nationwide specialist in installing EV charging equipment. The price charged by an electrician for this work varies largely based on four factors: the cost of labor where you live, the power of the charger, the distance between the electrical panel and the charging station, and the complexity of the job. This installation estimate also includes the price of permits. . ."

And then there is the selling point for them that you pull into your garage, plug in your EV and wake up the next morning with a full battery. But it doesn't mention that what you do if you pull in with a mostly depleted batter and your pregnant wife needs to go to the hospital NOW!

And I wonder what the 911 dispatcher tells people when all the electric police cars and fire trucks and ambulances are being recharged?

No, there are many alternatives and I've listed some.

ONE that you have just added is the option is for the teen apt dweller to buy a used gas car.

Or choose to be progressive and take a bus or bicycle.

Lots of good used gas vehicles on the market in CA.

No, you're missing the point! Most American homeowners won't choose EV's. The electric power infrastructure can never meet the demand of EV's replacing gas. Both sides of the debate understand this!

Most homeowners will choose one of the alternatives, and it can even be predicted which alternative they will choose. Used gas cars will top the list due to attitudes against accepting any of the alternatives. But that becomes harder and harder as the gas vehicles rust away.

See how Cuba has solved the problem!
Go to Cuba and breathe Havana's clean air!

Or we can dump elected leaders pushing the insanity and replace them with people who have common sense and who love America and Americans.

And if that electric ambulance is also on a charger?
In the real world, Americans will die because of stubborn attitudes.

And that's all it takes to change attitudes!

Call the ambulance but now in the meantime, demand socially responsible rates charged by private ambulance companies!

That's two birds with one stone, for the sake of the environment.

Nobody wants their 18 yr. Old daughter on a bike (massively dangerous) or light rail, bus in silicon valley or LA city with the rapists killers and scum. Chance of homicide off the charts. Stain dont have good answers to anything yet they want to enforce or dictate 5-yr plans?

SHUP loon. Nobody in CA rides a bike or a bus. Only a few months a year do you want to be standing outside as you well know. You don’t have 10%-25% black brown extra killers and robbers on every corner. This ain’t Pleasantville anymore.

And if there aren't? Small towns don't have a lot of resources. And it is not uncommon that ALL their law enforcement, fire services, ambulances are in use at the same time.
Small towns likely don't use EV's in their service fleets.
