The Hunter Biden indictments are a set up for show for two reasons:

Once again they will try to get Hunter off with a slap on the wrist and not go too hard after the more serious charges. I doubt it will get to the point a pardon is needed.

By indicting Hunter, they are trying to show Americans that the DOJ is not biased and that the indictments against Trump are fair and unbiased.
