I want you to stay out of my bedroom, but pay for what goes on inside!

Endometriosis is a debilitatingly painful condition. I should know, I had a severe case of it when I was young. BC pills helped immensely, and are still the main medication perscribed for this. Viagra is not a real medication for a real medical problem. Impotence is not a painful medical condition that affects your life, won't let you function or go to school and work - so what if old men can't get it up anymore - is that a crisis? No, it isn't, yet IT was covered long before BC pills were.

Ok..Lets not get into "my condition is worse than your condition"..That's a childish argument.
The fact is erectile dysfunction can be devastating to marriages and to men's psychological well being.. Medicine is not just for physical maladies.
With that said, my idea is to allow for coverage when the Pill is used for medicinal purposes. NOT for birth control.
There should be a medically acceptable distinction so that women who suffer from medical conditions such as the one you faced can purchase BC pills through a prescription benefit just like other medicines.

Sandra Fluke wanted contraceptives to be part of her presciption drug plan. Not the government to pay for it.

She has you guys scared shitless...so nice.

Conservatives know that.

But the right isn’t interested in the truth. They’re only interested in repeating lies often enough in the hope they’re perceived as true.

Ollie and some others here are unfairly being found guilty by association with other conservatives who are just here to make a splash.

Just today we saw a post that attributed CNN to deeming Rand Paul as the head of the GOP. It turns out it was an opinion piece on cnn.com. Anything Americanjihad or longknife or wheroften (he's not important enough to look up the actual spelling of his name) post is just something to roll your eyes at and move along. Others are only slightly better if better at all.

Ollie deserves a better constituency.

So would the employer be paying for it? Because they should be.

I don't know if there is a religious objection to Viagra, but I would call it elective and not covered.....

Call it what you want - but it's even covered by the VA. BTW, there are additional health benefits to contraceptives - other than birth control.

Viagra is used by both men and women to treat conditions where the body is not responding as it is supposed to.

Birth Control, when taken for that reason alone, is not restoring the body to it's natural condition, but preventing a natural occurance.

Pregnancy can be damaging to a woman's psychological wellbeing, too.

There's a little thing called abstinence, you know.

I agree. And men who can't get an erection should also abstain from sex, because they won't get all psychologically damaged over their lack of a hard on.

Glad we have a solution!

Have you guys noticed the liberals have scattered from this thread once we started comparative arguments??
Figures.

Because they know what we're saying is true. But accepting it would put a hole in their image as champions of the poor. Because in reality they're only helping those large corporations they hate so much get even bigger and richer. But at least they feel self-righteous because they're giving something away for free.

And their arguments of us being racist and misinformed backfired, so they really have nothing more to say.
THEY are not giving anything away. The liberal version of "giving" invariably results in something being taken from someone else by force of government and the threat of civil or even criminal sanctions. Liberals use government as their "hit man".

Erectile dysfunction in elderly men is normal - you think its normal for a 90 year old man to get a raging hard on?

Maybe once you can't get it up, you shouldn't have sex. Let men practice abstinence, and see how they like it.

Birth control is used for many other reasons other than to not get pregnant from sex...

Republicants can't understand that, for some reason.

Is there an echo in here?...You are a bit late there, Junior.

It is almost as if an alarming number of republicans are just attempting to punish women who are exercising their right to reproductive choice. Indiana recently came under assault for requiring not one but two ultrasounds of women who took RU486.

And they aren't just any ultrasound...its the TVU where a device is inserted into the birth canal.

The legislature was forced to suspend the second TVU under pressure. Thank heaven for small favors. Amazingly, those who get vasectomies do not have to undergo two trips to the urologist.

http://www.indystar.com/article/201...trasounds-required-women-taking-abortion-pill

This was after the same legislature passed a law that forces clinics that dispense RU486 to have the same requirements as clinics where abortions are carried out; much like making sure that the local Walgreens comply to the qualifications of a level-1 trauma center.

The entire Party seems hell bent on punitive action.

They should be ashamed.

perhaps people would wait a bit longer before having sex.

So I'd be in favor of a bit more restrictions in that sense.

We already have one of the lowest birth and fertility rates. You will never stop people from having sex, no matter what restrictions there are.

Can we cut money from other things first though? Like 2 billion dollar oil company subsidies?

-----------------------------------------------------------

Also you dodged the issue of would you rather pay to care for impoverished children instead?

You are not going to enter this discussion and attempt to hijack it with "would you rather"..
Stay on point or stay silent.

Prove your point that it is normal for men not to be able to get erections.

Let's see the medical proof.

I have tons of medical proof that it is not normal and that there is treatment for it.

Hormonal imbalance for one if I recall.

If it is used for hormonal imbalance, it is being used to treat a problem, not prevent one.

Try again.

By that logic, insurance shouldn't have to cover hypertension medication, cholesterol medication, antibiotics, analgesics, etc...

Funniest post ever.

Show me where I ever said that prescribing a pill to treat a medical condition is wrong and that insurance shouldn't pay for it.

Generally speaking, erectile dysfunction is a normal part of the male aging process.
