A 20-year veteran Chicago prosecutor quit his job and wrote a blistering letter to his colleagues on his way out Friday, blasting the city's "stupid" leaders and declaring they set the city "on a course to disaster"

Actually, I have to disagree with him. The city became a disaster long ago, but it is getting worse. Thank God the city woke up to throw Lori Lightfoot out on her ass, only to elect someone with even worse leftist policies. No wonder he quit and won't raise his son there. I read a funny quote once which said, "Due to budget cutbacks, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off". How appropriate.

Many young people are probably thinking about where they should work and where they should raise their children.

It does no good to bemoan the horrific crime that has engulfed almost all American cities.

One ordinary American cannot change the situation.

But s/he can work hard to find the least bad place to work and raise a family.

To the best of my knowledge, there are still a few cities that have very little crime, but they prefer to avoid publicity, lest people start moving there.
