If State Legislators/Governor Won't Enact Rent Control, Vote Them Out

l'll take 70 years of living experience over any of your research, "documented", or any other name you want to slap on it.
Right, I get that rent control worked for you, while harming everyone around you. It still didn't work for the rest of society.

Left-wing socialist ideology is always about screwing over everyone else, for your personal benefit.

As for the very prolific (half-ass) line so often used by landlords (and their lapdogs) > that rent control causes landlords to stop developing new housing, thereby causing the housing supply to drop.

1. Landlords and developers are not the same.

2. New housing gets developed with or without landlords, with or without rent control.

3. New York City has had rent control for 100 years. In 1924, the population of NYC was 6 Million. Now it is 8.5 Million. Almost all of the 2.5 Million population increase has been living in apartment house rentals under rent control. MILLIONS of new buildings for rental housing over the decades, was built to accomodate the population increase.
THERE is your "data". 😐

A survey of multifamily buildings owners in NYC shows that those with portfolios of rent-stabilized apartments are struggling to make necessary repairs on their units, leading to higher vacancy rates.

And let him eat the cost? You are a fucked up moron.
You are a DUPED moron if you think the massively skyrocketed rents (and still jumping) of the past 3 years, are related to costs. You're dumb enough to think that, and you think you're going to lay it on me ?

Looks like you're not reading the thread (Realpage....Blackstone,,,et al)
Try to keep up.

NO, it did NOT harm anybody, not even landlords. Apparently they were a lot happier than you. They kept doing what they were doing were decades.

Rent control is not left wing ideology. Most states with bans on rent control are blue states, and in Florida, business organizations and the Republican party (in support of them), are petioning for rent control.

With the massive damage being done to the business community by landlords, and the massive LO$$E$ we are suffering, I don't know how the hell anybody could call rent control "left wing socialist ideology",
I've always seen things that are in support of business, as being right wing.

A sure sign tht you are losing a debate, is when you repeat yourself with stuff that has already been addressed, and refuted.

In this case, in Post # 520.

Then you won't have apartments. As the data shows, fewer and fewer apartments are available for rent.

I already buried your "data". Are you reading my posts. Your data have been trounced by HISTORY of the past 100 years, and thousands of apartment buildings all over New York City, under rent control for 100 years, still clean, fully occupied, productive, and healthy.

And I even posted videos SHOWING them.

You need to learn to not be suckered by propaganda, making itself look authentic by yammering vested interest "data", and start looking at the "data" of what is right before your eyes. aka REALITY.

So let's go back to the data....

"A survey of multifamily buildings owners in NYC shows that those with portfolios of rent-stabilized apartments are struggling to make necessary repairs on their units, leading to higher vacancy rates."

Based on what, do you claim rent control doesn't even hurt landlords, when landlords are saying they can't afford to repair damaged apartments to rent them?

Protectionist is hard right conservative. Trump fan
Wut?

So rent control which he supports, is a 'hard right conservative' ideology? I think not. Every conservative I have ever read or listened to in the past 20 years, is opposed to rent control.

Name conservative that supports rent control? And Protectionist doesn't count.

That's NOT what landlords are saying. That is what some landlords have concocted this ludicrous "data" (propaganda) you keep yammering about, as a way to buffalo you, et al, into thinking what you think.

The real "data" is the proof in the pudding. The proof in the streets. The hundreds of apartment buildings I showed in great shape, fully occupied, no problems, under rent control, and they've been this way for 100 years.

Thousands of business owner conservatives in Florida are rebelling against the unprecedented huge rent increases going on here, over the past 3 - 4 years.

Rents aren't just going up. They have been SKYROCKETING hundreds of dollars per month. What do you think that does to consumers ? (whom we business owners DEPEND ON for our incomes.

Picture yourself owning a used car dealership, a furniture store, or a beauty parlor. And now look around you and you see rents going up $200/mo in one place. $500/mo in another. $700/mo hike in another. Yikes! And even $1000/mo (from 1500to 2500) in another.

You think this is going to have no impact on your sales? You're lucky if you still have ANY sales AT ALL, in the midst of this insanity. Sure, housing will keep going OK, as people have to have it. Same with food a gas, and electric. But 98% of all commodities ae not necessities like those, and these rent hikes are killing us.

I'm an artist, and I sell paintings. I have 53 in my online gallery, which range in price from $100 to $3000.

Not hard to guess what happens to my sales with the whole countries' rents going up by hundreds of $$$ per month.
I also teach music (guitar, violin, mandolin, piano,& music theory). Since the rent explosion started 4 years ago, my music lesson sales have all but dried up entirely.

And you think conservatives would be opposed to rent control ? Not the ones who own businesses, and ever single business owner I know is a Republican.

Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP), which represents rent-stabilized landlords across New York City and the force behind the TikTok campaign. Too costly to renovate and too cheap to rent — a one-bedroom in Chinatown for $570? — owners say they have no choice but to leave them empty. No use to anyone.

That's not propaganda by yammering land lords. That's the Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP) a government program that is making this claim.

You are just wrong. Once again, facts trump your opinion.

Nothing you posted contradicts anything I said.
