It is because they had to put in a lot of Buy American provisions, such as steel. They have to use American steel unless they can prove it surpasses it benchmark in price..it will because American steel is damn expensive compared to foreign produced steel. That's because American labor costs are the most expensive in the world. Buy American doesn't work in a global economy...'Buy America' Was a Bad Idea Last Century. It's a Worse One Now.

So you don't care about union labor making that "living wage" thingy that you neo-Marxist chumps are always sniveling about?

Interesting.

Pan out? Since when does anyone ever evaluate spending as to whether it "pans out"?

There is just spending, spending is all there is. Spending is what the government has become, just one giant inflationary raft adrift at sea......................

The cost differential between china and the US isn't that huge because what they gain in cheap labor, they lose most back in shipping/storage/tariffs. A lot of companies are building in Asia because they want to get in on being close to a huge potential market, not to save $1.40 per unit in labor. When it comes to tech, production costs is nothing. It is the damn licensing agreements and royalties that have to paid for the intellectual property found in the software/OS.
