I kind of think that if an employer had to choose between paying someone 15 an hour versus 9 they puck the guy they only have to pay 9. Do you see what I am saying?

That is true with service jobs that require no skill. If you need employees that are really good at what they do and dependable, then paying more to keep them is how to go. When there are jobs that a monkey or even machines could do, then companies won't be willing to pay big wages.

It also makes a difference when companies have share holders who, of course, want to see a return on their investment. Even big companies that make lots of money also have lots of people getting a share of that money. McDonalds restaurants are each owned by individuals and yet the left sees it as one giant business. Many small town restaurants would go out of business. The left seems to love the idea of fast food places biting the dust and taking all the minimum wage jobs with them. Because no job is better than a minimum wage job. Welfare is good for the economy, says moonbat Pelosi.

Bottom line is that the only way to change things is if people outright refuse to take jobs if they don't like the pay. And realize that low paying jobs are entry level and never intended to pay enough to support an individual's living expenses, let alone support a family. Sadly, the middle class jobs have seriously decreased with Obamacare and other policies, so we are stuck with mostly minimum wage jobs. That is why the left is so determined to raise the minimum wage. It would be better if they'd revisit the job-killing policies, but that won't happen.

Illegal immigrant students have a right to a quality, taxpayer-funded education that prepares them for college and a career, according to the Department of Education.
In pursuit of that objective, the Obama administration has released a 63-page guide for educators, administrators, and other stakeholders about how best to serve the illegal immigrant student continent across the nation.

The lengthy manual, released Tuesday, focuses on the rights of illegal immigrant students and provides tips and best practice advice about how to be meet their needs.

“Embrace and value diversity and the cultural backgrounds of all students. Teachers (and other educational personnel) who serve immigrant students should understand the cultural and educational backgrounds of their students,” reads one tip for educators.

The manual also instructs institutions of higher education on how to best serve illegal immigrants.

“Develop services and resources that specifically support undocumented students. Case studies of undocumented youth in higher education have highlighted lingering feelings of stigma and fear related to their status, as well as instances of discrimination on campuses,” another tip advises such institutions.

While illegal immigrants are ineligible for federal financial aid, much of the document focuses on highlighting the ways in which illegal immigrants may qualify for reduced cost college education— namely detailing what kinds of tuition benefits are available to illegal immigrants in certain states, financial aid advice, and a list of scholarships for which illegal immigrants may apply.

Obama has made prolific use of memoranda despite his own claims that he's used his executive power less than other presidents. "The truth is, even with all the actions I've taken this year, I'm issuing executive orders at the lowest rate in more than 100 years," Obama said in a speech in Austin last July. "So it's not clear how it is that Republicans didn't seem to mind when President Bush took more executive actions than I did."

Obama has issued 195 executive orders as of Tuesday. Published alongside them in the Federal Register are 198 presidential memoranda — all of which carry the same legal force as executive orders.

He's already signed 33% more presidential memoranda in less than six years than Bush did in eight. He's also issued 45% more than the last Democratic president, Bill Clinton, who assertively used memoranda to signal what kinds of regulations he wanted federal agencies to adopt.

Obama is not the first president to use memoranda to accomplish policy aims. But at this point in his presidency, he's the first to use them more often than executive orders.

"There's been a lot of discussion about executive orders in his presidency, and of course by sheer numbers he's had fewer than other presidents. So the White House and its defenders can say, 'He can't be abusing his executive authority; he's hardly using any orders," said Andrew Rudalevige, a presidency scholar at Bowdoin College. "But if you look at these other vehicles, he has been aggressive in his use of executive power."
