Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Tuesday claimed that Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel was self-defense.
In a post on social media site X, Araqchi also said Iran would not attack Israel again, unless Israel “invites further retaliation”.
“Earlier this evening, we exercised self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, targeting solely military and security sites in charge of genocide in Gaza and Lebanon,” claimed the Iranian Foreign Minister.
“We did so after exercising tremendous restraint for almost two months, to give space for a ceasefire in Gaza,” he continued.
Araqchi then warned, “Our action is concluded unless [the] Israeli regime decides to invite further retaliation. In that scenario, our response will be stronger and more powerful.”


Commentary:
Why is it that the sponsors of terrorism are so contrite in their speeches, yet so cruel and inhuman until the tables are turned?
Iran didn’t attack Israel in defense of their military. They intentionally attacked Israel’s citizenry to kill as many as possible. That’s what they do in the Middle East. Yet they whine over the inflated reported numbers of Gazan “civilians” that were collateral damage in response to the slaughter of Israel citizens who were slaughtered by them as a primary objective.
Iran has funded, armed, trained proxy militias all over the region. Hamas, Hezbullah, Houthis… but also the Shia militias in Iraq that killed and wounded thousands of US service members.
Taking out these proxies is not the same as attacking the country. Under no reasonable interpretation was this so called self defense. Israel took out the immediate threats to their nation. These militias are merely a weapon Iran wants to use to hold Israel hostage and under constant threat for any pretext Iran wants. Israel removing them is self defense. For Iran it’s not self defense it just neutralizes their contingencies from the ‘risk’ board and leaves Iran with a lot less leverage and without distractions. Iran is exposed now and with limited retaliatory (or offensive) measures to deploy.
I fear that the Ayatollah has opened pandoras box with this second rocket attack. They launched over 180 missiles.
I believe that Ihe Ayatollah and his henchmen will soon receive a message from the IDF .
They were warned by Netanyahu at the UN not to attack with missiles again.
The question now is what is the whirlwind he is referring to?

I'm often struck by the similarity in argument between terrorists and our democrat party.

Basically, what Iran's argument is is that we have been F-ing over Israel and they dared to fight back, so they deserve anything they get.

Likewise, the Left here steal elections, open borders, invade our country, release criminals and ruin cities, then when Trump fights back trying to stop any of it, they take him to court for invented crimes, invade his home, send assassins after him and try to lock him up for 700 years, then when pointed out, their response?

He is only getting what he deserves.

Iran now worries about war. China in particular wants this war, the just didnt want it before the election which is why there has to be immense pressure within Iran for the government to make this decision.
