The ease to cross borders freely, both for people and for trade, makes it worth it.

That’s something else. It’s called Schengen. And it certainly made it easier for the Bataclan terrorists to drive up and down between Paris and Brussels, with their AK 47’s.

Now that you are allowing "Asians" to immigrate there, that will change.

What will change?

It's old buildings and culture. Shame it is going to have to be now blended as it allows immigrants and yes the EU can increase the speed of that happening. I'm sure I would've appreciated the other Countries culture, and architecture as well if I had visited. Now all I have are my photographs from when I was there.

I think you passed the point of no return and now have to accept being a blended country, and so have the other countries there.
Also, your need of a global control, laws and trade/economy, eventually is going to make individual countries and laws obsolete. This will not happen in my Lifetime, I hope. The Federation is coming. Your actions have consequences, and you liberals/socialists tend to not recognize them.

What's your nationality?

Brexit was about 8 years I think and some still go on and on and on and on and on and on and on.....about it. How's the UK this, how's the UK that etc.. We dumped the dictatorship, all the others should too. Germany should hold a Brexit,

If we had voted for or against the Brexit then Great Britain still would be a member of the EU. We love the Brits. They are eccentric originals.

let the people decide if they feel all the crap from Brussels is worth it !!

Crap or crêpes?

Unification of a single powerful military makes it nice too.
You would want a single language as well.

NO!!!!

It doesn't have to be English.

English is the new lingua franka worldwide. It's a living language and damn easy to learn. And some people seem to be able to learn to think also by learning only this language - what's very astonishing.

And the same EU laws unification laws will help as well.

Eh?

I like our state's version where the state makes laws for itself, but there is a single set of laws for things that cross state lines like Trade, Commerce, and military.

Many don’t l can assure you. They can’t stand Ursula von der Leyen.

Then there are those that want us all to “be in it together”.
The way I view it is, each member state should keep and have it's own culture, it's own customs, it's own laws, their own currency. To experience them, it's called a holiday. And more importantly, which Remoaners fail to see, keep their sovereignty. The folk in those member states elected their representatives to make laws and not to be Brussels' lackeys

Yes. But everyone is also able to create new future cultures and new future customs.

it's own laws,

Makes no sense.

their own currency.

Would be stupid.

"Divide et impera" or "Trumpism" - was never successful in history. No one is great who feels the need to make others little. Donald Trumps greatness is the greatness of a dwarf ... who would never become one of the really great seven dwarfs.

i am a German

and always think it, is a good idea
I'll go out on a limb here, Germany will obviously support the EU idea because they couldn't rule Europe by force, so they're more than happy doing it through the guise of a "Democratic" EU parliament, if they can edge it to more and more member state integration. Do you think that's what drives Germany?

Germany rules the EU because Germany is underrepresented in the EU but pays for the EU as if Germany would be overrepresented?

Do you think that's what drives Germany?

You should really try to understand what others say here: The EU is a peace project!

What I replied to. Germany's culture will change because the immigrants will demand it. And, as they gain in percentages will win the votes to do so, effectively using your own Democracy against you, and you'll because their 151'st state.

Good thing I have pictures because that will be all that's left of their culture.
What's your nationality?
American.

Ok, just and outsiders point of view.

Um, MMORPG, and Armchair General type games. Oh, and One Player Story based games. Like Warhammer online, UO, and The Final Fantasy series.

The US has 50 member States and a central government. Imagine not one of you can vote for your president and if your State doesn't implement the new directive, it's gets fined millions until it does do.

Would Americans like that system?
It isn't so black and white as you make out old Son.

We're party politics, you vote and elect your MP in your constituency and the leader of the party must be a sitting MP, so that means a constituency had voted for the party leader. If the winning party achieves enough seats to firm a government, the sitting leader becomes the Prime Minister. If the Prime Minister steps down or is pushed out on a no confidence vote, the new Prime Minister (party leader) must be a sitting MP, a one a constituency elected.

The only ones that receive no public votes are the House of Lords members which has been a bone of contention for some time. The system to elect them keeps coming up for review, which it needs to to make the government fully democratic.
Same principle applies to the European Parliament and Commission. People elected the former, and it vote for the latter. What is different is the Parliament has proportional representation.

Yes, but it is going to destroy Germany's culture and turn it into a blended one.

A President, instead, works just fine. Though I would prefer a British form of election processes, I am just one voice in millions.
Well, the president in the US is elected not by the general population, but by representatives of the states. This thing has its logic too.

That goes for any country, basically. In America, we have the lifers, Government employees who work there for life regardless who wins the election. They have normal wage slaves and supervisors. Things don't change much when a new politician wins an election, as the cabinet member or politician in charge is mostly a figurehead who mostly just do what their staff tells them to do.
