The one-percenters don't gain anything by keeping people poor, but Democrats do. Democrats rely on government dependents so the more government dependents there are, the more likely Democrat voters.

Think of it like a Marathon Joe. Some people will nearly kill themselves to make it to the finish line. But if it were allowed, some would just get a ride to the finish line and be called the winner. Who do you think will try harder to be a winner?

And that's exactly what we are doing in our society. If you try hard, you can make it to a nice neighborhood and have a good living environment. If you don't want to work hard or not at all, government will simply place you there.
