Former FBI Director James Comey “tweeted” his New Year’s message Sunday evening, “Here's hoping 2018 brings more ethical leadership, focused on the truth and lasting values. Happy New Year, everybody.”
People of reason and good conscience must wonder if Comey was able to write and post his message with a straight face. As a longtime Republican, he has his own long list of unethical actions to consider. And having been fired for refusing the idiot Trump’s unethical request to obstruct justice, Comey should understand better than most people how his hope for “more ethical leadership” is impossible with his party in control.
Every piece of legislation passed by the current Republican controlled government was opposed by the vast and vocal majority of the U.S. public. The GOP consistently fails to serve the best interests of the American people, and instead, operates as lap-dogs and yes-men to the 0.1% and Big Business.
Comey’s “hoping 2018 brings more ethical leadership, focused on the truth and lasting values,” proves he is extremely naïve, a typical conservative sucker, or just plain delusional.
