Carter was always "credible", Barbarap...he's an intelligent man...he's an honest man. He wasn't a good President however because to be quite blunt, it was a job that he wasn't suited for. You have to remember that Carter was elected in the Post Watergate "hangover" when Americans didn't want another Washington insider as their President. They went for a little known peanut farmer from rural Georgia because they were looking for the "anti Nixon". Carter views his work post Presidency as his best because his work AS the President really wasn't adept. I respect his honesty.

Old style, actually I have always liked Carter and believe he has always been under rated as a politician.

My comment was meant as a sarcastic dig at conservatives who, historically, have discredited Carter.

Do you really think Carter was underrated as a politician? Besides the Camp David Accord I'm having a hard time thinking of something political that Carter achieved. He basically was elected because he was a Washington "outsider" and then he struggled mightily for four years because he was a Washington outsider and couldn't make Washington work. The Carter years stand out in my memory because they were SO bleak.

Apparently you didn't. Carter may not wish to admit it in detail, but it seeps out when he talks about the implementation of Obamacare being 'questionable.' The rollout of Obamacare in reality was handled incompetently by a loser who did lie to the American people about being able to keep their plans and doctors.
