Here's the problem for those of us on the right: it's true the ACA totally sucks and it's going to suck worse, but if the GOP cannot come up with something that is better then the only other option is SP. So in reality, nobody won today except maybe those who want to go to SP.

It isn't over yet.....Trump doesn't like to lose.....and he made a promise....Ryan couldn't deliver, now he will have to do it himself....

Yeah but he can't do it himself, he ain't a king or emperor. So what if in a year or two the ACA implodes, the democrats are going to be screaming for SP, they're not going to help him do the polar opposite. And I can't see a reason to believe the GOP can do any better a year or two from now. The only out I can see to avoid SP is to create an independent healthcare commission with the understanding that whatever recommendations come out of that will get an up or down vote, sans debate or changes.

The GOP plan was worse than Obamacare, what happened today was a good thing. Now maybe the "in your face" partisanship can pause and both sides can actually work together to make Obamacare better and lower prices. Allow for catostrophic plans, cross state lines, importing drugs, loosen regulations on small businesses... there are plenty of good things they can do to the existing law to help the situation and still keep plans for the 20+ million who got insurance through the ACA
