It's a sure sign of how much sway Trump is having over the entire GOP process when a pollster like Marist is even including the following in it's internals:

67% of Iowa Republicans, according to Marist, are more interested in nominating a candidate who shares their positions rather than a candidate they think is most electable.

In the polling before Trumps comments, it was 68%, in the polling directly afterward, it was 65%, which averages to 67%. Considering the high MoE (+/-5.3), this doesnt really tell us anything about a shift in attitude or not. Apparently, Donald Trumps comments are just fine with Iowa Republicans. Meanwhile, he is losing to Hillary by about 17 points nationally...
