Much of our life saving medicines are in those ships... as well as food....Seriously? What foreign products do they require that cannot be acquired from US companies?
If you buy a foreign car built overseas, you deserve to wait on it. It will not spoil sitting on a ship.
Buying American made products just might catch on after a few months. Anything we need from China probably will just enter through the west coast and endure increased shipping costs by rail.
It won't take long before we will have a shortage of blood pressure meds... blood thinners... cholesterol meds... Parkinson's medication.... cancer meds... medical equipment like glove masks and needles...
What products will be affected by the port Workers Strike?
Food products likely to be impacted in the nearer term include seafood, coffee and fruits and vegetables grown outside the U.S. And while retailers that likely stocked up beforehand are buffered against an immediate impact, "at some point bananas are going to expire, frozen seafood is going to defrost," Munch said.5 hours ago
