I was raised and confirmed Catholic, I am not an atheist, I'm agnostic. When one looks closely at organized religions, it's not a stretch to equate them with political parties. I have two close friends who left the priest hood, both good men and still practicing the faith but fed up with bureaucracy and authoritarianism. Both conservative and yet both registered Democrats.
