The thing that your average Democrat doesn't think about is that once you have implemented Communism, you've just ended democracy. Millions are murdered in the name of preserving the system and also by starvation, because once bureaucracy gets in charge of food production, everything goes to hell. Anyway, once in charge, any sense of "Democracy" goes to hell.
You end up with a government that is, authoritarian, oppressive, persecutory, tyrannical and outright murderous to anyone that wants to advocate for other voices in the populace.
You can always count on re-education camps, gulags (prisons), disappearing and mass graves.
