There was a shooting in Chicago on Tuesday…..3 teenagers shot…2 killed……police say it was gang related and a result of an earlier shooting that took place somewhere else…
The myth that normal Americans are dangerous because of guns is just that, a myth. The majority of gun murder is committed by violent criminals with long histories of violence and crime, and the victims are also career criminals with long histories of violence and crime…
Police: Shooting of 3 teens latest burst of gang violence in Grand Crossing
Donta Parker, 16, was shot in the head and Sakinah Reed, 17, was hit in the chest. Both were pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn an hour later, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Parker lived in the 7800 block of South Cregier Avenue, not far from the shooting, and Reed lived in the 9000 block of South Burley Avenue, according to the medical examiner's office.
Another 16-year-old boy was shot in the hand and was taken in good condition to St. Bernard Hospital, police said.
About three hours earlier, an 18-year-old man was shot in the thigh in the 7400 block of South Blackstone Avenue, also in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, police said. He was dropped off at Jackson Park Hospital and was in good condition, police said.
A law enforcement source, citing preliminary information, said the two shootings appear to be gang-related and may be connected. No one was reported in custody in either shooting
Now this points out another thing about gun violence in the U.S….there were 8,124 gun murders in the U.S. in 2014 according to the FBI table 8.
But…..as you can see here, guns are not used in each murder, and many times one gun kills multiple victims…so the true number of guns used to commit murder is smaller than the 8,124 victims.
For example….2 guns used in San Bernadino muslim terror attack…14 dead…..
So…..of the 357 million guns in private hands…..less than 8,124 of them were used to commit gun murder.
That means that over 356,991,876 guns in the hands of normal gun owners, were not used to murder anyone……..
