FACTS:
- Post-game prayers were being held by THE PLAYERS
- The coach had NOTHING to do with the prayer players were joining in after each game
- NONE of the players were FORCED to participate
- The volunteer coach was FIRED for NOT STOPPING the prayers

:wtf:

Catalina Foothills High School has replaced its freshmen football coach, and the reason why is a source of high controversy.

Like many school districts across the country, Catalina Foothills School District bans school employees from leading organized prayers. The district says Gary Weiss did just that, and so it fired him. Weiss – who, it should be noted, is a volunteer, so no family is going hungry over this – insists he had nothing to do with the prayers, and instead maintains he was fired for not stopping the prayers altogether.

"A Washington state football coach could be fired after players followed him in prayer on the field.

Assistant Coach Joe Kennedy defied the Bremerton School District, which demanded he stop leading post-football game prayers, and went to the 50-yard line to say a 'private, post-game prayer' on Friday.

To his surprise, Kennedy was joined by some members from his Bremerton High School football team, players from the opposing team and a group of supporters during the homecoming game as a sign of solidarity."

AGAIN, NO ONE forced these young men to participate. They made a personal choice, and Libs are trying to strip them of that personal choice.

Faculty and staff can't participate. Period.
Please post a link to the law that states this. Thank you.

For all you and the school knows he could be sitting in to ensure the kids aren't doing or saying anything 'wrong'.

...and oh by the way, since he is a volunteer and is not getting paid, technically he is not 'faculty or staff' - he's a volunteer.

"School officials in Birdville School District, near Fort Worth, Texas, allow students to offer prayers before football games, claiming that since the students freely choose to do so, the prayers are not endorsed by the school.

Meanwhile school officials in Taconic Hills Central District in Craryville, New York recently barred a student from closing her middle school graduation speech with a prayer, claiming that prayers at graduation – even when given by a student – constitute school-sponsored religion in violation of the First Amendment.

Before sorting out who got it right or wrong, let’s remind ourselves of what we know about the constitutionality of student prayers in public schools under current law:

According to the U.S. Supreme Court, school officials may not sponsor or promote religious exercises in public schools. At the same time, however, no Supreme Court decision prohibits public school students from praying alone or in groups, as long as such prayers don’t disrupt the school or interfere with the rights of others."

This isn't a war on Christians by liberals or anyone else. This is Christians deliberately picking a fight for the issue at campaign time.

Sounds like the State is mandating religious rules, so much for separation. The denials by the left are pretty lame.

Only a LIBERAL could look at a group of kids, from opposing teams, kneeling together in prayer after a football game - with a coach joining in, thanking God for a great competitive game in which there were no injuries, and think all they are doing is PICKING A FIGHT WITH 'YOU' AND YOUR 'AUTHORITY' TO CONTROL PEOPLE'S LIVES, 'your' 'assumed self-appointed power' to insist they - free, individual citizens choosing to do this - do NOT have the freedom to do this unless 'you ok' it.

Your obvious ignorance and deceitful agenda is only embarassing yourself. I could give a shit about this coach. Law's the law though. Ok let's let him pray with his team. Now who's to say Muslims can't as well, or those Satanists. You just set the precedent retard, so now you have to sit there in the stands and listen to some Arabic tongue wagging. Remind me to thank you late one night.
