1. Ever hear this quip? "93.6 % of statistics are made up on the spot."
Not only is it the aim of Liberals to silence any views to which they object, but they have no compunction about producing phony facts and statistics that support their ideological goals.
The bogus rape statistics in support of the "rape culture" meme have pretty much been refuted...but how about the "domestic abuse" stats?
“Disturbingly, intimate partner homicide is the leading cause of death for African American women ages 15 to 45.” Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr.,speech at domestic violence awareness month event, Oct. 19, 2009
Guess what? Just like Obama's "1-in-5 college women raped" claim.....it's another 'Liberal fact' that's entirely made up!
"....this fact was proven wrong, and yet at least two of Holder’s speeches referring to this “fact” remained uncorrected on DOJ’s Web sites, year after year..... Eric Holder’s statement deserves a ‘four Pinocchio’ rating (a ‘whopper’) for ‘undermining our democracy’ with false information [as per Mark J. Perry, an economics professor at the University of Michigan-Flint and a scholar at the American Enterprise Institute].
... Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data show that, for the year 2008 (the year before Holder’s speeches), cancer, heart disease, unintentional injury and HIV/AIDS all topped homicide.
.... this all started with a 1998 study by the Justice Department’s Bureau of Justice Statistics, titled “Violence Against Intimates,” that examined the data concerning crimes committed by current and former spouses, boyfriends and girlfriends. The most recent data in the study were collected in 1996.
The study does not say that intimate-partner homicide is the leading cause of death among African American women; in fact, it makes a key point that the rate of such murders had dropped dramatically." Holder’s 2009 claim that intimate-partner homicide is the leading cause of death for African American women
Bottom line: 'Liberal facts' such as this are designed to perpetuate the myth that everyone is a victim, needing big government to protect them.
2. "...Holder's patently false assertion has remained on the Justice Department website for more than a year. How is that possible? It is possible because false claims about male domestic violence are ubiquitous and immune to refutation.
During the era of the infamous Super Bowl Hoax, it was widely believed that on Super Bowl Sundays, violence against women increases 40%. Journalists began to refer to the game as the "abuse bowl" and quoted [Liberal] experts who explained how male viewers, intoxicated and pumped up with testosterone, could "explode like mad linemen." During the 1993 Super Bowl, NBC ran a public service announcement warning men they would go to jail for attacking their wives.
... one lone journalist,Washington Post reporter Ken Ringle, checked the facts. As it turned out, there was no source...
["93.6 % of statistics are made up on the spot."]
.... the story has proved too politically convenient to kill off altogether." Domestic violence myths help no one - USATODAY.com
The lying and dishonesty isn't surprising.....
......how many accept the propaganda, is.
