Lincoln Town Car (Panther Platform)

It has chagrined me greatly that Ford discontinued the Panther platform, without coming out with any suitable successor thereto. Ford owned the police car market, and much of the taxi market, with this car.

And their cheaper versions on the Mercury label did just as good.

But, as always...........all great things must come to an end at some point.

Although I do like the looks and styles of todays Lincolns, I hear they are rated badly by owners though.

I still like them better than Cadillacs. The Cadillac look is heinously reminiscent of an oversized dust-buster.
I've also sat in a new Caddy before, and there is NO headroom for anyone over 5-10.

The Crown Vic was to go to for the police for a long time. Now Ford owns the PD market with the Explorer. I've had two of those since 1997, a 96 1/2 (they were late coming out that year with the redesign, but it was a great, dependable vehicle for as long as I had it) and a 2018.
