Maine’s passage of ‘right to food’ amendment stirs celebration, worry

Oh, so they pay an accountant out of the $27.500.00 to tell them what to do with all the money they have left? lol

Let's see what they would have left.

Rent - $750 per month (and that is cheap in most places).
Groceries - $500 per month (using coupons and eating cheap)
Power bill - $125
Gas bill - $40 (if the wear sweaters in winter)
Car Payment - $400
Gasoline - $100 ($25 a week)
Cable/internet - 100
Car Maint - $50
Car Insurance - $75 (cheap)
Misc - $100

That comes to $2,240.00 per month, or $26,880.00 per year.

So they would pay an accountant to tell them what to do with the $11.92 a week that they have left over.

And you will notice there is no money for healthcare, life insurance, furniture replacement/purchase, buying clothes or shoes, going out for entertainment, or other things most families enjoy.
An accountant would be your best bet. I already forgot the quadratic equation.

What the hell does a quadratic equation have to do with the budget I listed above. I listed the bills and showed what they would add up to for a year.

No number is squared in a budget. Polynomial equations are handy in some things, but a budget is not one of them.

But please tell us how a quadratic equation is used in a family budget.

An accountant would be your best bet; a subject matter specialist.

I would prefer our chief magistrate of the Union issue a simple executive order to faithfully execute our own at-will employment laws; from the top-down.

That is settling out of court? So you expect a chief magistrate to issue an order to either radically change unemployment compensation or eliminate it all together, without you having to make your case in court? lol Good luck with that.

No, tell us how a quadratic equation would be used in a family budget.

Accountants are very handy if you have a significant amount of money, especially if you want to avoid paying excess taxes. But when you bring home less than $27,500 per year, an accountant is of no help.

On average, an accountant costs between $125 and $450 an hour.

I prefer algebra for generic stuff.

What you prefer is irrelevant. A budget is simply a listing of expected expenses subtracted from expected income. Since the income will not vary, there is no need for variable there. The expenses I listed are perfectly valid, so there is no need for variables their either.

Dear right-wingers,

Solving simple poverty on an at-will basis in our at-will employment States does not require Rocket Science.

And, we have already been to the Moon and back.

Why do you allege to care, right-wingers? Y'all have no morals or ethics. Stop whining.
And now you're dancing around, hoping to avoid the topic. Not gonna happen. Is that in fact what you want, a cradle to grave government program to sustain you so you do not have to work to support yourself?

Do you believe anyone with recourse to an income for simply being unemployed in our at-will employment States would learn Nothing about Capitalism by merely existing in our economy?
I absolutely believe that, due to human nature, there would be a significant number of people who would refuse to take any job if they could get enough free money to live on.

You need valid arguments not simply making up and assuming your own conclusions. NPD?
And you're dancing because you ran out of arguments and you realize you're stuck in a corner. Let's do this again. Who, besides yourself, believes for a minute that UC means testing is unequal application of the law?

I agree to disagree. What you claim is impossible without some medical pathology.

Why does it matter? I already know I resort to the fewest fallacies.

No. Not at all. I only realize that I would be foolish to take right-wingers seriously about economics, the law, or politics. There is a simple solution to simple poverty. You confuse poverty with Poor. Typically of the fantastical, economically clueless, and economically Causeless right-wing.

Vote blue not red!
Poor people are in poverty. Being in poverty is the same as being poor. You keep talking about a simple solution to simple poverty, but it's obvious you haven't thought beyond, "It's not fair that I can't get paid just because I quit my job and don't want to work any more". There is no simple solution to poverty, because poverty has many causes, from laziness to severe bad luck to mental illness to government policies that raise the cost of living to absurd heights. Simply paying people to not work is NOT a solution to poverty, simple or not.
