Suppressors to Lose NFA-Shackles with ‘Hearing Protection Act’? - GunsAmerica Digest
There is a serious push to take firearm suppressors off the NFA list (National Firearms Act). Currently, you can buy a suppressor, but it requires additional background checks and a hefty tax payment. But even those two criteria are not all. You have to obtain a signature from a chief law enforcement officer. Just to protect your hearing?
Before anyone goes on and on about how dangerous they are, please look at the actual noise from a suppressed gun. TV & Movies may have them sound like an air rifle, but reality is a different matter.
