Like every other branch of the Military, the USMC works for the civilian government and adopts whatever standards the politicians see fit. The Corps survived Harry Truman's effort to disband it after all they sacrificed in WW2 and Korea so it's expected that it will survive the Brandon/Harris liberal insanity.
