Immediately after that, Nikki Haley and her state leg took that flag down and New Orleans with various other cities and municipalities across the country began examining their legacies of Lost Cause propaganda monuments and making plans to take them out of the public spaces where they stood for 90 years. This has been a process going on over two years.

Oh and the first one New Orleans took down was a monument to a coup staged by a white supremacist group called the White League. Which is "madness" --- having an totem for that, or not having one?
