It’s really not math. It’s just arithmetic’
but to really dumb people 1 million barrels doesn't seem to be bigger then 750 barrels.

For some reason environmentalists and idiots like these two guys just can't admit that when you ship by tanker 1 million barrels and it travels one mile on the open ocean there is a greater chance of storms, equipment, etc. problems that would put the largest amount of area thousands of square miles of ocean at risk VS 750 yes 750 barrels traveling ONE MILE in a pipeline on land!

Why is that so difficult to understand? This oil WILL be traveling and which way would have the lowest chance of an accident and would have the least environmental impact is when simply restated: 750 barrels travel one mile versus 1 million travels on ocean in one mile!

That simple

I can't really follow that. Do you have a link, or are we supposed to be psychic?

It's his usual rant re: Keystone XL. Which I totally support BTW.

No it is simple arithmetic.
Everyone KNOWS tankers hold an average of 1 million barrels.
Everyone knows Keystone holds 700,000 barrels that travel about 1,000 miles so that works out 750 BARRELS per MILE.
Doesn't take a link to know that!!!

The Keystone XL Pipeline is a proposed 1,179-mile (1,897 km), 36-inch-diameter crude oil pipeline beginning in Hardisty, Alberta, and extending south to Steele City, Neb. This pipeline is a critical infrastructure project for the energy security of the United States and for strengthening the American economy. -

The pipeline will have capacity to transport 830,000 barrels of oil per day to Gulf Coast and Midwest refineries, reducing American dependence on oil from Venezuela and the Middle East by up to 40 per cent. - See more at: About The Project | Keystone XL Pipeline

830,000 divided by 1,179 miles of pipe mean 703 barrels per day.

Capacity: up to 300,000 Dead Weight Tons
Total lbs @2,000 lbs/ton or 600,000,000 lbs
One gallon weighs 4 lbs. or tanker holds 150 million gallons.
One Barrel oil equal to 42 gallons or one tanker holds 3 million barrels.
