The adults (Pence and crew) had to step in and sideline him while they bailed him out of his incompetence. Then he railed
against every preventative measure the people he hired to advise him..wanted to implement. And made sure to denigrate the
lot of them on the way. Meanwhile millions of people were put out of work, thousands of businesses shuttered, an economy in ruins.

So why did you think South Korea would be a good example for the US if you know our people wouldn't stand for it?

This nation has done just fine for centuries without masks on people and as for COVID, as each subsequent variation came along, it was weaker and weaker. Now, it makes you feel bad for a day or two and you recover, plus there is treatment available, where there wasn't a couple of years ago.

I really thought that Trump should have (or could have) had maybe 1-2 "fireside chats" with the nation on prime time over the summer where for just 15 minutes, he brought the country up to date on what was going on, the nature of the virus, progress with vaccines, an overview of the plan with suggestions and options for protection, etc. I can't say that would have saved lives, but I think the optics would have been good for the country and maybe helped his campaign. Most people don't follow afternoon WH pressers.
