We've been living through a low intensity world war since at least 2019, and quite possibly a low intensity civil war as well since 2020. Beyond direct knowledge of what is happening in our local areas and information gathered (in-person) from friends and family living in others, we really only know what the media chooses to tell us, and who is to say half or more of that is even real? We live in a time unlike any previous, where mass deception is the rule of the day.
