The Dem proposal is for an actual trial with witnesses, and the jurors not colluding with the defendant.

McConnell has a big problem. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presides over the trial. McConnell doesn't get to make up the rules as it goes along.

Your problem is how you define what a fact is. I define a fact as a provable event that actually happened. Your definition involves how many times some remark has been repeated in your right wing bubble. I contend there is just one set of facts, no matter which side you are on, and both sides are bound by those facts. You prefer to separate them into yours or mine allowing vast differences between the two.

When this gets to the senate there will be due process for Trump. He will call witnesses and Schiff will have to explain his relationship with Caremillo (aka: the whistleblower) and what his actions and help was to create the complaint and why he sent him to an attorney who is anti-trump and a Coup D'eTat worshiper. This will then implode on the democrats..

The whisleblower can not provide any direct evidence since he can only repeat what he heard others say. The only reason for calling him as a witness is political; that is to parade him in front of the nation to confirm he has only hearsay evidence, which is common knowledge. The real evidence is the phone call, the hold on military aid, and the House witnesses that have testified as to why the aid was being withheld.

Of course it matters not, Trump could go on national television and announcement he withheld military aid to force the Ukraine to investigate his political rival and the Senate would still acquit him. I'm surprised Trump has not admitted it since he sees nothing wrong with his action. The trial is just a dog and pony show, with the outcome already determined.
