McConnell rejects Dem proposal for impeachment trial, calls it a 'fishing expedition'

Mitch is coordinating with the Trump people and questions the need for any witnesses. Hell, why doesn't he just assemble the Senate call for the vote. Save a lot time and money. It would not be a fair trial anyway. The jury has already decided. In fact, it was decided before the day the House Judiciary Committee met to consider impeachment. Like Trump said, he could shoot someone on 5th Ave and noting would be done because he's president and immune from laws including the constitution. Don't believe it, just ask him.

Just like that impeachment was already decided in 2017 what would you expect?

The desire to impeach a president is always on the minds of the opposition party. It was certainly on the minds republicans during the Obama administration and democrats during the Bush administration.

It was only a question of time before Trump gave democrats the evidence they needed. Remember Trump was sent to Washington to cleanup the swamp. If that meant breaking a few laws, his oath office, and the constitution so be it. He has said he would break the law if necessary. Throughout his life he has lived on the edge of law, in and out court, facing charges from the state of New York, and cities and towns around the world.
