Melania and Barron Trump won’t be moving to the White House

Future First Lady Melania Trump and son Barron will not be moving to the White House after Donald Trump’s inauguration in January, The Post has learned.

The president-elect’s 46-year-old wife and their 10-year-old son are staying put at the family’s glitzy Trump Tower penthouse so that Barron can continue attending his Upper West Side private school, sources told The Post.

“Melania is extremely close to Barron, and they have become closer during the campaign,” said a source close to Trump’s transition team. “The campaign has been difficult for Barron, and she is really hoping to keep disruption to a minimum.”



Another source said Melania Trump will travel to the White House as needed, but that her primary focus is on Barron.

“Melania is very supportive of her husband and is fully on board of doing everything that’s needed as first lady,” said the second source familiar with the Trump transition.

That source said also that there is a possibility that Melania and Barron may move to the White House at the end of the school year, but no plans are in place.

My gut reaction to this is that there are sacrifices to be made when a man becomes president. In this case, the sacrifice is that the entire family moves to the WH and the First Lady becomes the focus of planning on what causes she will bring to the President's message.

It's too easy for criticism of a wife not wanting to leave their opulent lifestyle resulting in a more traditional setting. There are private schools in the DC area and the SS wouldn't be burdened with providing security in New York City for Melania and Baron. Suck it up, Melania!

It's a set up so that Trump can go to Manhattan on the weekends. He doesn't give a phlying phuck about the kid or her, he just doesn't want to be in the White House.

This is going to totally screw traffic and transportation in Manhattan. Nothing screws up the logistics of a city, especially when it's a tiny island, like a POTUS being in town.

Couldn't happen to a nicer city. LOL

It's a city that froze a nation into paralysis after 9/11. Millions of people work in Manhattan, it's the financial heartbeat of the country. And Trump is going to fuck it up and he doesn't care.

It's going to be very very expensive to let Trump have his way. People bitched when Michelle Obama went to Europe? Think that trip every weekend instead of just once.

Why do you think so? Do you really believe a child should pay for the sins of their fathers? A spouse? Let's be clear and specific. Let's be fair since your rule should apply to every elected official regardless of party, the age of their children or their spouses.

That is the additional cost estimated for keeping Trump Tower as the habitation of Melania and Barron after Donald moves to D.C. It is unnecessary and a huge pain in the ass for NYC as it deals with Trump Tower now being a huge sore thumb in the midst of one of its busiest districts, Fifth Avenue. More, it is a slap in the face to the White House and the majority of Americans who would consider it an honor (although admittedly a confining one) to live there.
Let's be serious. Barron won't suffer, except that his "playroom" of an entire floor of Trump Tower, will be severely downsized. Military kids get moved in the middle of the school year and no one gives it a second thought. Other presidents have brought their children to D.C. and they've managed to deal with switching schools. Trump can fly down Barron's school buddies for weekend visits. This is more than continuity of schooling. Any reasonably educated child can weather it without much problem.
To me, it's clear the Trumps' elitist snobbery is showing, and as usual, his supporters are defending something without any defense.

You do know that it's just until summer so the kid can finish high school, correct? It wouldn't make sense for him to be yanked out of school for the last half year of his education.

Yeah, military kids get shuffled around. I went to four different schools in the fourth grade. Was learning shit I already knew or had no clue what they were talking about. That's hardly a good reason to uproot the guy. I assume obie's kids are looked after as well.

Wrong. The had the tax returns for a few years that showed he took a loss and spread out the deductions, legal to do. If that had all the returns there would be no outcry for them.
