Agreed. There's probably some truth to the priest abuse and Canada's Indigenous school system scandals but I think it's been blown way out of proportion by people with an axe to grind and/or who just want their 15 minutes of fame.

I do know that recovered memory therapy done by a therapist with hypnosis training is in admissible in court in MD, NY and NC. Recovered memory therapy without the possibility of hypnosis depends a lot on the jurisdiction. If there is corroborating evidence can be admissible. If recovery of memory does not involve a therapist in some cases, in some jurisdictions it can even restart the statute of limitations because the accusation and crime can be treated as the starting when the memory is recovered.
