I really don't know what to think about this. My knowledge about it is kinda slim.

I mean I'm sure not EVERYONE who does ANYTHING is anything in particular in common.

If you think about it, not everyone who watches rape videos is a rapist, not everyone who gets on liveleak loves violence, etc etc. So I would venture to guess, technically, he's probably right. Some people view it just for its taboo nature, not because they are hugely turned on by it.

Second, the act is illegal because it supports and encourages the exploitation of those children to produce that content. When was the last time that you seen someone go to jail because he watched hentai that depicted something depraved? Can you find a single instance?

Should they be put in jail for possessing such material - you are damn straight. Some things cannot be tolerated and the use of children in sexual acts in one such thing. This sounds a lot like someone trying to justify his own darker interests.
