Unless you lot are willing to cough up more money to pay for these unwanted kids once they are born, your country is going to head down the tubes. Over here the limit is 24 weeks, with permission from two doctors needed after that point. Despite the law, there hasn't been any increase in late abortions like the anti choicers thought there would be. The rate of abortion has stayed the same, with more abortions occurring in the first 9-12 weeks of pregnancy.

What does that mean? It means that a law banning abortion after a certain period isn't needed. Unless you had a massive number of late abortions, there is no need for a law that prevents abortions after 20 weeks, if only a small handful of women have had abortions after this stage - and those would likely have been for fetal defect or to save the life of the mother.

Leave the law as it is and women will still have abortions in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. All this law does is make it that much harder for women to have abortions if the fetus is suffering from a defect - as the law doesn't define how severe the defect must be before abortion is allowed.
