Missouri voters approve legalization of marijuana for recreational use

The fact is that ‘bans’ don’t work – whether it's abortion, prohibition, or drugs.

Given this fact, however, authoritarian conservatives continue to advocate for ‘bans,’ for more government excess and overreach, for more power to the state at the expense of individual liberty.

Such is the authoritarian right.
Actually, we did no such thing when it comes to abortion, simply complied with existing law that said it should be state's decision.
As for drugs or alcohol, bans probably don't work that well.....just like restrictive gun control doesn't work. Criminals do what criminals want with no regard for the law.

Derp….
You are such a moron.

Biden pardons thousands for ‘simple possession’ of marijuana

not a single person was released from jail on that,, didnt you get the memo??

and dont forget most of them are in jail because of legislation biden pushed,,

Why shouldn't they? Legalizing marijuana has worked so well everywhere it's been done. Just look at the successes in Portland, Oregon, Seattle, Washington and San Francisco, California.
Use mouthwash for your halitosis issue

Sorry you live in a shit hole, but there are weed shops all over the place in Illinois, most are not in "bad parts of town".

The closest one to me is one in the same shopping center as Chick fil a and Toys R Us.

Then there is another one right by the Hobby Lobby and Home Good Store.

80% white city with a median income of just over 90 grand.
That’s weird….you won’t find a porn shop or weed shop in any clean, nice affluent community here in Mexifornia….Damn, folks make $90k in shitholes in IL?

Legalization of Marijuana is being seen as a blow against Christianity.
Christianity is now faced with the task of demonizing it.

Hogwash.

So, what does the Bible say about cannabis?

What the Bible Says About Cannabis

At first glance, it actually appears that cannabis is never mentioned in the Bible, as there are no specific references to it by name. However, many Biblical scholars agree that cannabis does appear quite a few times, in the Old and New Testaments, and has simply been mistranslated – possibly on purpose. These probable cannabis references in the Bible carry a sense of respect for the potent power of this plant. From the Holy oil of Moses to the healing miracles of Jesus, it’s possible that cannabis played a critically important role in the original versions of some of Jewish and Christian Scripture’s best-known stories.

Q: Is marijuana mentioned in the Bible?
A: Though cannabis by its proper name is never mentioned in the Bible, many Bible scholars believe that numerous references to a plant called calamus are actually mistranslations of cannabis. One of these references is to calamus/cannabis as a primary ingredient in a Holy oil recipe given directly to Moses by God.

Does the Bible approve of cannabis?

The Bible never outright condemns the use of cannabis. There were no laws against using cannabis in the Hebrew or Christian ancient texts. It’s highly likely that at the time the Bible was written, people in the Middle East were well-aware of the existence, usefulness, and potentially intoxicating factors of marijuana. In the original Hebrew Old Testament, the use of hemp, both as an incense for religious celebration and as an intoxicant was mentioned.

Many people interpret the words of Genesis 1:29 to imply that weed is inherently good and approved for human use since, like all plants, it was created for us by God. In this verse, God tells Adam that “Every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit, you shall have them for food.”

The ‘good’ Leftist approved Bible says: “Get stoned.”
The ‘bad’ Leftist denounced Bible says: “Don’t put your penis in a mans ass.”

The political right and the religious folks don't accept Cannabis as a general rule. The political left does accept it.

You'll have to write another bible to make that go away.

Umm…alcohol is an addictive drug.
A more deadly addiction than heroin.

You Culture Warriors are obsessed with penises and men's asses aren't you?

The history of cannabis use has been hidden in modern history, even the Church.

But you were ready to terminate/ban people who didn't take the mRNA injection. Don't even try to tell us about authoritarianism.

Democrats and Republicans have both waged the unscrupulous war on Americans who use non government approved recreational substances, for politician gain. I don't trust either one. The Christian Brothers that taught me in High School are liberal Brandy makers.......
