New York City to pay $98 million to settle case alleging FDNY discriminated against minority applicants* - NY Daily News

MARCH 18, 2014, 2:59 PM

New York City reached an historic settlement with the Vulcan Society of black firefighters, agreeing to pay $98 million in back pay and benefits to minority FDNY applicants without acknowledging intentional discrimination at the fire department.

It was the latest decision by Mayor de Blasio to change course and end a legal controversy stemming from the Bloomberg administration. The FDNY discrimination case spanned seven years and began when the U.S. Justice Department under former President George W. Bush filed a landmark lawsuit alleging that two written exams for prospective firefighters were biased against blacks and Latinos in an effort to keep the FDNY predominantly white.

This takes us right back to the quota system where illiterate uskilled unqualified blacks get govt jobs just because they're black.

Man some real brain busters there please tell me those aren't actual exam questions.

This takes us right back to the quota system where illiterate uskilled unqualified blacks get govt jobs just because they're black.

Hey, if an illiterate, unskilled, unqualified black can be elected resident of the US just because he's (half) black, why not reinstate a quota system that accomplishes the same goal?

Oh, yeah...definitely racially biased.

Expecting people of races, nationalities, or ethnic derivation other than white Europeans to comply with some standard is apparently racist.

I don't see any racial bias in those ten questions. I really love number 1. I think the problem is the blacks just can't read.

Can you imagine the kind of fire department they will have?

It's gonna be all illiterate blacks and 80 pound women and child molesting perverts. Skills mean nothing to the govt. All that matters is if you're one of the "protected" groups.
