To me, it's absurd to give a test to a child, and then base your decisions on how to run their entire life, on the basis of that test. But we keep doing it.

For example, if Neurosurgeons are under represented by certain race or social class, does it make sense to lower the ethics and standards so that diversity goals can be met?

Nearly every trade and profession paid more in free states than in slave states. The vast majority of European immigrants moved to the free states, because that is where the economic opportunities. were.

The South has always been the economic backwater of the United States. The industrial revolution happened in the North. The computer revolution is happening on the West Coast.
