Many of the people who are suffering in NC, SC, GA, and FL are still without power. There are people up in the mountains that haven't had electricity since Helene moved thru the area. They're running out of food and water and nobody is helping them.

It doesn't make any sense to switch everything to electric if the government can shut off the grid or if a storm can cause millions to lose power. The only power these people have is with gas powered generators.

Solar panels. My brother lives in north Georgia not far from NC and he installed solar panels with batteries on his property. They went about 12 hours without power and the only thing in his house he could not run off the system was his AC.

We could divert/redirect all those billions of dollars in foreign aid and other government programs; like housing illegal foreign nationals who do the work US citizens won't do or college loan payoffs to students who took out loans so they could go on spring break; into helping people who really need help in natural disaster struck regions.

Not everyone in my neighborhood has a generator.
Come to think of it, I need to buy another portable generator in case they cut off my gas.

Look at the poor woman in the video. Can you imagine her taking care of a generator year after year so it is ready to run? Any idea how many cans of gasoline she would have to have and treat and lug around?
Any idea what she would have to pay to have solar panels and keep it running over years?
She is obviously a widow who raised a family in that house. Memories and the cost of living someplace else are what keep her in that house. She is obviously not a wealthy person.
But yeah everyone needs to have thousands of dollars invested just in case

And generators take fuel, fresh fuel not old stale fuel and a good big generator is expensive.
It ever occur to you they live in remote, mountain areas because they are poor?
