In the port town of Barawa in the Lower Shebelle Region, the extremists on March 4 called residents to the town center to witness the executions of the 41-year-old mother, Sadia Ali Omar, and her 35-year-old cousin, Osman Mohamoud Moge, the sources said.

Before killing them, an Al Shabaab militant announced, “We know these two people are Christians who recently came back from Kenya – we want to wipe out any underground Christian living inside of mujahidin [jihadists’] area,” according to an area resident whose name is undisclosed for security reasons.

Omar’s daughters, ages 8 and 15, were witness to the slaughter, sources said, with the younger girl screaming and shouting for someone to save her mother. A friend helped the girls, whose names are withheld, to relocate to another area.

“We are afraid that the Al Shabaab might continue monitoring these two children and eventually kill them just like their mother,” the area resident said.

I remember when our soldiers were getting tricked by the Muslims they were training in Afghanistan / Pakistan - they were being ambushed by the enemy that was getting inside information on their whereabouts- and although I forget the details what I will never forget is the Bush interview concerning the story! A reporter asked President Bush were you informed about such and such - this was military news mind you - and he said, no. I never heard that story.

With that said it's an important news story and I thank you for posting it. Americans know some of what is going on but not how quickly it is escalating. Islam has never been more radicalized or dangerous in my opinion. More Christians were persecuted / murdered this past year than any other group on earth. Its a serious situation and I appreciate your work to speak up for those cannot. ( because the dead cannot speak up for themselves )

It is your choice to bring Obama up or not bring him up but as you did I thought I'd point out that if Obama were to comment on every murder Islam was responsible for he would never get anything else done.

Persecuted Christians Have New Allies: World Watch Monitor and Morning Star News | Christianity Today


The surge of African nations up the ranks of the world's worst persecutors isn't the only news today from Open Doors USA.

Along with the release of this year's World Watch List (WWL), an annual ranking of the 50 countries where Christians face the most persecution for their faith, Open Doors is also launching World Watch Monitor (WWM), a fresh news initiative that aims to raise awareness of the persecuted church.

"It's important for people to have knowledge of persecution," said WWM editor Jeff Thomas (previously editor and vice president of the Colorado Springs Gazette). "The association of our news with the credibility of Open Doors [will] enhance our news information."

Open Doors is not a new player in the persecution news arena. Long before it launched WWM, the ministry ran the well-regarded Compass Direct News service. But Open Doors began to rethink its strategy in 2011 and decided to close Compass Direct and associate its reporting more closely with the Open Doors brand, Thomas said.

The World Watch Monitor name now explicitly links the news service to the WWL in order to "help readers encounter the larger story of the persecuted church and be invited to more significant involvement with it," he said.

WWM is one of many nonprofits—including Christian Solidarity Worldwide, Voice of the Martyrs, and International Christian Concern (ICC)—that use journalism to raise awareness of religious freedom around the world. "If you strip away the religious element of what we're doing, persecution is a niche topic," said Thomas.

But former Compass Direct editor Jeff Sellers says such news efforts are limited by their ties to particular aid agencies. Independent news organizations, like those in the mainstream press, face fewer limitations in gathering and disseminating information, he said.

If you'll look over my recent posts you'll see my focus has been almost entirely on Communists, Indo.
