This is the reason for Obadiahs prophecy:

Obadiah 1: 18 And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them, and there shall not be one remaining of the house of Esau, for the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.

Then in Obadiah 1:19, 20,21 you see the Israelites shall take back Gaza - the House of Esau having ceased from the face of the earth for this is the recompense of those ( the house of Esau ) who have troubled the House of Jacob and the House of Joseph.
