Native Americans to Suffer Most From Drought

Last time I checked all the Indian Casinos are fine.

They even have a huge fountain during the worst drought in the hottest winter ever?

Casinos benefit very few. You really think the Repub mindset of the wealthy stealing from the poor doesn't occur on reservations too? Just like whites, there are those who take from the ones who cannot fight back.

That's very true but you need to ADD a word to your response..
It is "every SURVIVING member of the .... tribe".. When these casino deals come in --- there's a LOT of tribal strife and warfare.. And MANY get expelled or have their "status" removed.. So as to concentrate the proceeds of casino in the hands of FEWER members.

Big stories on this.. And it's pretty ugly inter-family and inter-tribal disputes..

Nobody survives life and it was Native Americans who began the killing of Native Americans.

When discussing Native American businesses or employment, consider that many of the reservations are very rural. No manufacturing, no major roads through the reservation to bring in business. For all too many , poor schools, or virtually no schools.

What do you expect from government-owned land where everyone is on the dole with absolutely no incentive to thrive? The people of tribes that do not qualify for all those federal handouts prosper just like any other citizens. Think there might be a connection there???

Only in the last generation. My mother-in-law was ordered out of the house when a little girl in Seattle when another small girl invited her to play. As she left, she heard the parent castigating their daughter for allowing a 'dirty Indian' in the house. This was hardly an isolated incident. In my lifetime there was a sign at a public swimming pool in The Dalles, Oregon that said 'No dogs or Indians allowed in the pool'. It was 1957 before Indians could leave the reservation without a pass.

Your parents obviously were comfortable living with racism and bigotry, I see where Old Crock gets Old Crock's vile bigoted temper.

Long enough, wouldn't you say? You want a better life for Indians? Get 'em off the fucking dole.

I'm half Irish, half Jewish. Shall we talk about problems of the past there or shall we stop blaming other people for our problems and get the fuck to work?

I vote the latter.
