Nelson Mandela dead

No one hates Nelson Mandela. We might refuse to perform obesiance, but that's not hate. Hate should be reserved for real wrongdoing that harms the individual holding the opinion, reserved for obama for instance.

Mandela is not a saint, for most of his life, he wasn't even a good person. That's why he reminds me of Robert Stroud. A throroughly evil man, who somehow did great things.

Profound ignorance of the subject matter has never been a hindrance when it comes to expressing an uninformed opinion.

Mandela "thoroughly evil"? OMG, someone is a nut case.

In other breaking news:

Lack of information is a leading cause of ignorance.

Except there is no excuse for ignorance when there is a wealth of information available on the internet.

Can we stop politicizing this man's death please? Geez. Why do people feel the need to make politics out of death? He's one of the iconic figures of the 20th Century, and all we can do is how it impacts us politically? For pete's sakes, knock it off.

"He's one of the iconic figures of the 20th century" is itself a political statement.

No it's not. It's a statement of fact. Deal with it.

What about Mandela was "thoroughly evil"? Was he a murderer? Did he confiscate private property without cause? Did he support a political ideology that mandated segregation, removal of God given rights and injustice?

It seems he was the opposite of all that. How does evil apply to Nelson Mandela?

Seriously?

I've seen about enough of this "Mandela is a communist and therefore a terrorist" BS for one day.

Do you know why he was put on the terror watchlist? For actively opposing the segregationist policies related to Apartheid. Not because he was a communist.

The fact that he was a "Communist" is why we didn't help him.

You're the one calling him a terrorist I'm calling him a communist which is a fact not BS.

Well that sort of reasoning was flawed. But hey, it looked like he didn't need our help anyhow.

While I adamantly loathe communism, I have to stop and think for a moment. Mandela was a Democratic Socialist, not a communist. For the record. There's a distinct difference between communism and socialism.

What exactly is communism?
If you can answer that and still think some communist are good, you should reevaluate your belief system.
OH Mandela called himself a communist

Perhaps you should stop giving in to stereotypes.

Mandela was a member of the ANC, who stood for African nationalism, Left-wing nationalism, Social democracy and Democratic socialism

Measure a Communist by his actions. Where are examples of Communism in Mandela? If he was a loathsome Communist, tell us how his Communism manifested itself. Otherwise, your criticism of Mandela shows not only a warped and misguided understanding of history and communist ideology, but a blindly ignorant judgment of a man who is universally admired by people of all political stripes.

So redeem yourself and your assessment by demonstrating in real clear terms how Mandela served a Communist political ideology.

Simple question what is Communism?
Mandela called himself a communist.

Do I have something that I should be redeemed for NO I don't

And for the record, any conservative out there who thinks I've suddenly morphed into a bleeding heart liberal, you are sorely mistaken. I grew up hearing stories about Nelson Mandela. Unlike you, I know when to acknowledge a man for what he has done for his people. I will defend him and set the record straight. He isn't any of the things you are labeling him as. He paved the way for racial equality in South Africa, much like Martin Luther King did here stateside.

Mandela called himself a communist.

Prove it. And given your current ability to access the internet, google Communism and you will get your answer to 'what is Communism.'
