Netflix: "M'Dear's Family Reunion"

I tend to view T.V. series and movies long after they're originally released such as just discovering 'Girlfriends' because it's featured on Netflix, more than 20 years after it originally began airing. As far as M'Dear's family reunion, there were a lot of things that resonated with me but the one thing I REALLY love about this series is how they feature a short reference, generally with photos, of Black American pioneers and other historical people and events that generally are not found in the typical American history book.

I was looking for something to watch that wouldn't be too engrossing and turned to this series again and the next episode dealt with the two sons of the main characters having gun drawn on them and being handcuffed while on the porch of their grandmother's (M'Dear) house.

The more things change, the more they stay the same it often seems...

A family of six from Seattle, Washington, visit Columbus, Georgia, to attend a family reunion. They decide to relocate there to be closer to their family.[6]​
