“We conclude that the trial court erroneously admitted testimony of uncharged, alleged prior sexual acts against persons other than the complainants of the underlying crimes,” the court’s 4-3 decision said. “The remedy for these egregious errors is a new trial.”

Whether or not he DID it becomes irrelevant. Did anyone actually read the articles about it? His lawyers made the great case that his conviction should be thrown out because the prosecution used witnesses making statements about unproven allegations to do nothing more than damage their clients reputation. Basically, they were attacking him without him being able to defend himself because they had no proof any of that stuff happened.

Just because you hate what someone did doesn't mean you get to break the law and violate ethics laws to attack the defendant. Now we might have a rapist go free because of this.

Weinstein may be a filthy degenerate scumbag. But he is still supposed to be tried on the evidence.

The Molineux rule in NY isn’t new. And whether we like this particular outcome or not, the fact that the State’s highest Court still gives it due weight isn’t a sign that it is pro criminal.

The good news is: Weinstein still needs to beat the retrial. That’s fine.
