New Zealand man Shoots up government office with shotgun...but, that only happens here...right?

If I posted the same shit every day....I'd get bored in about 2 days.

What kind of simpleton can do that for months or years on end?

Get a new hobby ya loser, ya.

says the racist.......

yep......a guy in New Zealand shoots woman at her place of work........anyone hear about this in the states?

NZ Shotgun Murder Highlights Need for Armed Self-Defense - The Truth About Guns

ohn Tully is on trial for the murders of Peggy Turuhira Noble and Susan Leigh Cleveland and the attempted murder of Lindy Louise Curtis and Kim Elizabeth Adams, in a shotgun shooting at the Ashburton Work and Income NZ office on September 1, 2014.
It's rare in NZ, but not here in the US.

yes...their nuts and criminals do not commit murder as often...and unlike Australia they did not confiscate their guns......and yet their gun murder rate stayed the same as Australia's........

What's the murder rate in New Zealand again?

doesn't matter....this shows that the only reason it isn't higher is that their nuts choose not to do it....this story shows that if they choose to shoot up a government office they can do so........

The actual question...the important question...why do American nuts do it more......?

Will this shooting mean more are going to happen as this gets publicized?

So your argument is that there's no relationship between the availability of guns....and gun violence?

If so, then their gun deaths as a proportion of their total murder rate should be about the same as ours.

Is it?

New Zealand has more guns than Australia...and less gun violence? How would that be possible?

yes. You could give guns to every law abiding Japanese citizen and their violence rate would stay the same.

our law abiding gun owners own 356,991,876 million guns and do not use them for gun murder or crime......there are less than 8,124 guns used to commit murder in the states....and those primarily committed by people who cannot legally own or carry guns...who have long criminal records and histories of violence....and those murdered are also criminals.......

normal people do not shoot other people and they are the majority of gun owners in this country......actually saying they are the majority is silly....356,991,876 million guns in private hands vs. less than 8,124 guns used to commit murder is so far above the majority as to be inaccurate........we are talking 356,991,876 million guns vs. less than 8,124..

Can you rally understand the difference between those numbers...they are amazing.....

there are more guns in New Zealand than Australia......and the same level of gun violence...

Australia confiscated guns and their gun violence is now going up...how do you explain that...on an island nation.

Britain...another island nation......confiscated guns...they are now having to arm more of their previously unarmed police...and their gun violence rate is up 4%.

Iceland...lots of guns...very little gun violence.......

access to guns is not the issue....the culture is the issue.

Our criminal sub culture commits murder of all kinds more than their counter parts around Europe, Australia and Japan...guns are not the difference since European criminals get fully automatic rifles when they want them....

You guys make the mistake of believing that normal, non criminal, non violent people are made violent simply because they have a gun...and that is just not true.......

what you don't see is the criminal sub culture and their views on killing.....are criminals in New Zealand willing to commit murder?

the criminal sub culture in the U.S. Is very willing to commit murder against each other, mostly, and against other innocents.

yes.

Then why are the proportion of gun homicides as part of total homicides in New Zealand about 1/5 of what they are here. And of course, their guns per resident is also about 1/5th.

That seems an awful strange coincidence if there is no relationship between gun availability and gun violence.

We have more guns in this country...over 100 million more since Obama came into office...and 13 million people now carrying guns...and our gun murder rate went down....and has been going down for years....our overall violence rate has gone down since the 90s and this is when more people, not less, own and carry guns.....

If you are right, how is that possible?

It comes down to the culture...again...how willing are their criminals to pull the trigger and actually kill?

in Chicago we have gangs luring 9year olds into alleys and murdering them to take revenge on the kids gang member father....would they do that in New Zeland?

In Japan....the bosses care about making money, not killing each other....and their gangs are main stream...they actually have store front operations and have relationships with the Japanese police....that kind of criminal sub culture does not lend itself to murder.....

See what I mean?

Our gun ownership has gone up as has our concealed carry permits...and our violent crime rate and our gun mirder rate and our gun accident rate has gone down...how do you explain that?

If you are right, how is that possible?

Simple: there are fewer people with guns.

See, the gun ownership rate has declined while the total number of guns has increased. Meaning many of the same people just bought more guns.

Whether Bubba has 2 guns or 10 guns doesn't seem to have much to do with gun violence. Whether Bubba has 2 guns or 0 guns does seem to have some relevance.

Gun ownership rates have gone down.

Worse, what possible relevance does concealed carry rates have when you just argued that the availability of guns has nothing to do with gun violence?

Recognizing of course that the Author of the study you're going to try to cite has admitted he can't factually establish a causative link between lower gun violence rates and concealed carry permits.

And you know that. And we know you know that.

Oh, and you didn't even try to answer my question:

that is wrong....the growing areas of gun ownership up are women and minorities...the General Social Survey is wrong and that is where that little factoid comes from.....the guy who runs it is anti gun, and stated he wants to bolster the will of politicians to pass more gun control...on top of that....it is a phone survey asking people if they have guns....a complete stranger calls up and asks you if you own guns...and you expect gun owners who understand the gun debate to say yes?

sorry their doesn't have to be a link for this discussion .....it is a fact.....13 million people now carry guns for self defense....by actually counting permits.....and the gun mirder rate, the over all violent crime rate and the gun accident rate went down........

Gun ownership did not increase crime...which goes against what you said would happen....
