NO COPS ALLOWED. That’s the confirmed policy of SF bakery

Reem’s California said in an emailed statement to The Standard on Friday, and later on Instagram, that it has a policy that bans firearms from its restaurants.

That’s the confirmed policy of the bakery chain Reem’s. One of our officers was denied service last weekend because he was in uniform. Reem’s confirms that they will not serve anyone armed and in uniform. Presumably, this includes members of the US Military.

Alrighty, good luck to Reem's if they ever need assistance.

Bizarre.

This will not end well for them.

There are more than enough places selling cop candy out there. In a truly free society business owners would be able to economically slit their own throats by restricting their customer base as much as they desire.

Perhaps the next time the bakery needs to call the police, the police will take an hour or two to respond?

/---/ When the police do show up an hour later, they should stand on the sidewalk and make the owner come out to give the report. The cops can say, it took us an hour because we were across town getting some coffee and cinnamon buns.

It's not as though the police have any duty to actually protect anyone.
Oh, they do, indeed, have a duty... but they have a great deal of defacto leeway regarding their priorities and response times...

Disrespect the police and make them feel unwelcome and you voluntarily foster ill will amongst them... not too bright, eh?

it's the Human Condition... insult someone and their are going to resent you and may very well let you suffer when in trouble.

And if you don't think that happens in a law enforcement context every day of the week then you are deluding yourself.

It's called Living In the Real World... something that many Kalipornia LibProgs only have a nodding acquaintance with.

If it's private property what do you people care who is allowed in or not?

I find it interesting that you support private property rights for some people and not others.

Insulting cops is about as bright as Pickett's Charge... not something that anybody with multiple brain cells is going to do...

They have the right to do just that... but they should not be surprised when their calls for help incur a very slow response.

Slow... not a non-response... but slow... and just inside the Acceptable Response Time Window... barely.. when seconds count.

The kind of "slow" that cannot be reproached but that impacts the efficacy of the response... for non-lethal events, anyway.

LibProgs will tear their hair out... the rest of us will laugh and flippantly say "Told you so... fools". Painfully predictable.
