When did a “book review” become synonymous with Intelligence gathering? More importantly, why are taxpayers funding this shot at NPR? Can’t we find better use of our tax dollars? Christ, everyone has a phone and access to create podcasts and channels and radio stations. There is no need for the taxpayer to be funding state-run media in 2021.

Yes there is. There are hundreds of reasons for the state to be doing EXACTLY that. That's why every first world country is the world has a government owned radio and television network. The CBC in Canada, BBC in Great Britain.

Your primary sources of right wing media are privately owned by Republican billionaires who have a vested interest in selling Republican governance to the American people, because the owner of FOX News, Breitbart, and Sinclair Media personally benefits to the tune of billions of dollars every time Republicans cut taxes, regardless that every Republican tax cut has lead to a Republican economic collapse, and a destruction of the wealth of the American working and middle class, to the point that millions of people are falling back into poverty annually, and the American middle class in shrinking.

Having sources on government programs that give fact based information on government programs and functions, and concerns, instead of hyperbolic right wing Chicken Little reportage on programs that will increase Rupert Murdoch's tax bill, and help lift millions of American back out of the poverty that tax cuts for the Murdoch's, the Mercers, and the Sinclairs, and their buddies, have put the American worker into.

MSNBC, CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC.....you don’t consider these to be “primary”? Or, do you consider these to be owned or operated by Republican Billionaires? In either case, you are blind and / or in denial. Fox, Breitbart, Sinclair etc. only exist because the stalwarts I mentioned refuse to tell the entire story and they are very biased. Finally, I might accept PBS and NPR being funded by the taxpayer if they provided views and opinions from multiple angles.
