Wouldn't it be better to spread love than Hate like I see here? I see hate all around me. But I also see Love all around me as well. The chances are, if one is radicalized one side or another, hate is all that is left. Today, a neighbor stopped by and asked for help. She is 75 years old. Her Swamp Cooler stopped working. I am too old to get up her roof and check it out. I helped her to get help from another neighbor. At 75, not having a cooler could mean the difference between life and death. I could have checked, first, if she was a Republican and then decided to help or not. BTW, she's a liberal. Guess we all should hate her and allow her to die, right? Wrong.
I have a neighbor that is a fringe Ultra Right Winger with guns. I see him as a danger to the place big time. He spouts off the NRA line with venom. He spouts off that the "Liberals, spit on floor" are all out to destroy America. I feel the need for all the rest of us to be armed just in case he goes off. A bullet doesn't check your party affiliations when it hits you. The question he has to ask himself, am I armed or not? I won't tell. I am an avid supporter of the CCW.
I seen more right wing nutcases running around with guns on their hips. They say it's to prevent armed criminals from operating. What it really means is, they have their weapons showing so an armed criminal has no choice to take a simple robbery and escalate it to killing people. In the same situation, it's better to just give them the money and take care of things later. But the gun nut will draw his weapon. Newsflash: In that situation, the guy with the gun on his hip is the first to buy the farm by the bad guy. And since the bad guy has already killed one person, he just as well kill everyone else.
Just because it's your right to do something doesn't mean you should be doing it when public safety is in jeopardy.
