Obama Calls Out American Companies For 'Gaming The System'

The system is only being gamed because the tax code allows it. The tax code was written mostly by the democrats that have controlled congress for most of the last 80 years.

The fix is simple, stop sending democrats to congress---also stop sending rinos.

Bullshit. Conservatives want to reduce taxes even more.

So this is akin to saying that by following the rules in any game you are gaming the system....

Why do we have rules?? Are we not supposed to understand these rules??

So at the grocery store do you complain when the person in front of you has a sales add four 4 XXXXXX beverage products that only cost them $2.50 each while you pay $4.95
because you simply failed to take advantage of the available options ??? They understood there was a sale of 4/$10.00 if they failed to take advantage of that who would be responsible for the overpayment they themselves made??

Lib response: STFU and hand over the dough so we can pay off SEIU and the trial lawyers.

you're under the belief that republicans would close tax loopholes for companies and cause a net increase in corporate taxation?

The fix is not more corporate taxation. Do you understand that corporate taxes are included in the price of the products? WE pay corporate taxes, not corporations.

The problem is too much government spending.

I don't know if more GOP congressmen would fix the problem, But I definitely know that democrats will not.

You know what amuses the hell out of me? When liberals like John Kerry register their boat in a different State to avoid taxes or Al Gore sells off his television network before the start of the year to avoid higher taxes or Charlie Rangel neglects to pay taxes on his island getaway...nobody from the left seems to care. When American businesses react to the one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world by moving their headquarters to a country that has a lower rate...then THEY are "gaming the system"!

liberal hypocrisy knows no limits.

In a CNBC interview on Wednesday, President Barack Obama took aim at corporate inversions -- deals where a U.S. company keeps its operations at home, but moves its formal address overseas to avoid paying taxes.

"Companies thrive in the United States in part because they benefit from the best university system in the world, the best infrastructure," Obama said. "There are a whole range of benefits that have helped to build companies, create value, create profits. For you to continue to benefit from that entire architecture that helps you thrive, but move your technical address simply to avoid paying taxes, is neither fair, nor is it something that's going to be good for the country over the long term."

Why do Conservatives defend such un-American companies who dodge paying U.S. taxes?

America has been fundamentally transformed by a regime that feels entitlement to profits. Company's maximizing value for their shareholder and pension funds by avoiding egregious taxes and regulations could not be more Conservative AND American.

Obama should know when someone is gaming the system, he's the master and congress a bunch of minions.

No one knows better how to game a system than a community organizer. Alinsky wrote the book. The corporations gamed the system and Obama and his regime got played. From one gamer to another, why not be a man and say, "well played"?

Shoot no they don't. They build casinos and get drunk all the time and then wander off to their dilapidated wigwams. They make their poor wife sell fake jewelry in little huts along the side of the road.

Warren Buffett structures almost off of his acquisition as tax free exchanges of stock PLUS he moved all his net worth to a tax free trust

Obama wants people to follow the law!

Ha! Ha! What law? Corporations are watching his string of executive orders to side step laws ("game the system"), and saying, "why not us?" Once again Liberals have been exposed for "do as I say, not as I do."

The pathetic thing is watching the sheeple follow lock in step.

What's even more ironic is that those Corporations who Obama calls out for gaming the system have a duty to their stockholders to try and turn a profit. When they "game the system"...average investors who own their stock do better. Now contrast that with Gore, Rangel and Kerry! When they game the system the only people who benefit are John Kerry, Charlie Rangel and Al Gore! Yet Obama thinks Corporations are the bad guys and doesn't say a word about rampant greed among his fellow liberal politicians.

Why do Conservatives defend such un-American companies who dodge paying U.S. taxes?

But the GOP will fight him on this. They whine about the deficit and then allow corporations to avoid paying tax. They are classic Hypocrites.

Here we go with the same childish name calling, got some facts and not supposition??

Conservatives are concerned about the deficit because of Democratic over spending, the refusal to slow spending down and the incessant whining about give you more by taking from others.

Now the Highest Corporate tax rate of Democratic world countries, industries leaving and the lack of jobs for those who actually want to work would be arguments for cutting corporate tax rates.

You trying to link the two together and implying that one has any thing what so ever to do with the other is just down right laughable.

Your view point shows that not only do you not understand current affairs, your understanding of causation of Corporations off shoring make you look both moronic and childish!!

They aren't gaming the system they are playing by the rules in place. Personally I think it is pretty shitty that an Intr. corp. can lay off all the American workers, shift the jobs to China/Mexico, and still get a generous tax break. And don't tell me I am BSing I went through the exact thing. They had record bonuses that year and their stock went up. Sales were strong through the recession. American workers (non union btw) fuck em. It's just business.
