Obama moves to save the honey bees, targets pesticides

I guess Stephanie thinks grocery stores just magically produce food.

that was so uncalled for...and I guess you think this government has money trees growing in the back of the white house
whatever

Although it is blasphemy to Liberal/socialists, not all problems require huge amounts of government money to fix. If certain pesticides are harming honey bees, lets cease the use of those pesticides and the honey bees will take care of themselves.

The question we have to ask ourselves, is whether or not, this administration will attempt to use the honey bee crisis to further government's grip on the lives of people. The ole "Never let a crisis go to waste" concept that Liberal/socialists are so fond of.

Exactly, but you can't criticize their Dear wonderful leader...
as you see in this thread:lol:

But haven't we learned from this administration that bigger government is gooder
government...

Why can't we get Michelle to run with this.
She has her garden to protect.

He isn't MY dear wonderful leader cuz I think he sucks. But on this issue, I agree with him. Probably because I am selfish and wish to continue eating.

Is he going to have the balls to sue the big ones like Bayer who wiped out how many colonies in Europe?

It won't do any good unless he goes after the biggies.

On this one Steph I have to agree that this is an urgent situation that should have been dealt with years ago.

You lose your pollinators you lose your food. No guff. It's a big deal.

Even the EU has been late to the party but they've finally moved on it. Check it out:

The dangerous chemical Bayer makes is a neonicotinoid, or neonic. Neonics are soaked into seeds, spreading through the plant and killing insects stopping by for a snack. These pesticides can easily be replaced by other chemicals which don’t have such a devastating effect on the food chain. But companies like Bayer and Syngenta make a fortune from selling neonics -- so they’ll do everything they can to protect their profits.

The EU banned these bee-killers this past May, after a massive public campaign and a clear scientific finding from the European Food Safety Authority that neonics pose huge risks to bee populations. Bayer fought against the ban every step of the way, using tactics taken from Big Tobacco -- pouring millions into lobbying and fake science to stop decision-makers from taking action.

She kinda fucked up with the OP so now must move on to Eagles. I wonder what is after that backup that fails?

You kinda fucked up now enjoy the pats on the ass..you don't care about bees it's just because it was about OBAMA..that why you don't give a shit about the bald eagles
now you go:eusa_clap::eusa_clap: little girl...

Bald Eagles are important too.....but with the way Bee populations have been declining as of late .....this kinda has a little more weight.....

I'm not saying I disagreed with the bee thing
It's the new government task force and the millions of dollars. while I think it can be dealt with another way in the private sector..plus it won't help us when all these other country are still sending their pollution on us

I'm flipping out over mosquitoes being killed off. The males are such a major pollinator and some moron has come up with a sterile mosquito to kill them off all in the name of preventing Dengue fever.

Holy toledo!!!! That's freaking nuts. What could possibly go wrong with a genetically modified mosquito?

So you are back pedaling off your trolling...we get it...you want zero government..

i dont think we would die off,but the chain reaction would be quite dire for the planet in general.

National Geo had a thing about the mysterious thing that is killing them off.....23% in this Country alone.....it is pretty serious....

i put a link up, its quite a few things killing them off it seems.

yea they said the Wild Bee population is faring worse than the domestic ones because no one is out there helping them like they are for the Honeybees....

Maybe we can put out the word to all the folks walking across our border
that if they want to stay they need to bring some bees with them.

you are starting to sound as stupid as Shootspeados....you are the kind of person Dean describes....
